THE RED HIBISCUS 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS SOFT ADVENTURE PACKAGE

our departs every day with minimum 2 persons and not more than 8 persons per group.

This popular package actually consists of 2 fullday tours and 1 halfday tour where tour members conveniently return to the Red Hibiscus Guesthouse in Chiang Mai every evening. The tour is not strenuous and includes a touch of "Soft Adventure". Emphasize is on encounters with people and nature, sprinkled with activities such as bamboo rafting, elephant riding and some light trekking. The tour provides an excellent insight into the traditions of the various hilltribe people which inhabit the surroundings of Chiang Mai.

DAY 1

Arrive Chiang Mai Airport or Railway Station. Transfer to the RED HIBISCUS GUESTHOUSE. Time at leisure.

DAY 2

American Breakfast. Start for a 1 DAY TREKKING TOUR in the area of Doi Inthanon National Park. The first stop is made at a Karen Village with an opportunity to observe villagelife. The village is starting point of a light trekking through beautiful mountain scenery dotted with paddy fields. The trekking can be adapted in length to suit different physical conditions (30 minutes to 1 1/2 hr) or can be substituted by an Elephant Ride. Lunch is taken in a Shan Village before a leisurely 1 1/2 hours Bamboo Rafting on the Wang River. A short forest-walk and another visit to a Meo Village rounds up the day before returning to Chiang Mai. Overnight at the RED HIBISCUS GUESTHOUSE.

DAY 3

American Breakfast. Start of a 1 DAY HILLTRIBE TOUR introducing you to a variety of 6 different Hilltribes in the Chiang Dao area. You will learn about the different life-styles, the way of living and housing, traditions and habits of the Palong, Black Lahu, Karen, Lisu, Akha and Meo Hilltribes. Very often this indigenous Hilltribes live in remote areas and still go their age-old ways of life, unmindful of developments down in the plain. Lunch is taken picnic style in an Akha village followed by a visit to their public school if possible. This is a 4-Wheel Drive Tour and without long walks. Return to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon. Overnight at the RED HIBISCUS GUESTHOUSE.

DAY 4

American Breakfast. Start of a HALF DAY WHITE WATER RAFTING Tour. Scenic drive to the MaeTaman Valley north of Chiang Mai. Join an exciting 1 hour Rafting Experience on the Mae Taman River in rubber rafts. This is a mild White Water Rafting suitable for everybody and not going beyond grade 2. After the Rafting drive to the beautiful Mae Sa Valley for a well-deserved lunch before returning to Chiang Mai in the early afternoon. Continue your stay in Chiang Mai or proceed with your onward journey.

REMARK: White Water Rafting maybe substituted by Bamboo Rafting if water level is too low / or if requested by participants.

IMPORTANT: Change of clothes recommended to bring along for rafting.
